My LMP was Dec 9th and on Dec 12th (saturday)I had unprotected sex and took plan B. I took one pill that evening and I took the second pill late, i took it 15 hours later insetead of 12. In fear that the pill did not work I took another dose on Monday. I started to bleed exactly one week after taking the first pill on saturday Dec 19th, I've read that the bleeding could be "withdrawl" bleeding. Is it possible to ovulate again after having the withdrawl period?
My period is now late. I took 3 pregnancy tests this week and they all come back negative. Could it be that I will NOT get my period this month because I took 2 plan b pills in 3 days. I will also mention that I've been stressed out since having unprotected sex but I don't think i can relax until i get my period. Pleae help!!

I sort of have a similiar situation. My LMP was on March 5 and lasts about 5 days. My boyfriend and I had sex on march 13th/14th(early morning) and I got a plan b that morning. (My boyfriend and i didnt use a condom for a minute and then realized we were being dumb and put one on.) Exactly a week later, March 21st, I decided to take birth control, but only took it for a totally of two days, march 21 and 22. I did NOT have the light bleeding a week after taking plan b like every other women I read has had, but do not have any symptoms of pregnancy. I took a total of 7 pregnancy test and they are all negative, but it is now 20 days late. I am stressing over this, but trying to stay calm seeing as it can delay your period more. Is there a chance that plan b just caused me to skip a whole month even though i didnt have the spotting after taking it? Please respond someone! It would really help me out :( I mean, I am not too young to have a baby, but I want to be married first and finish nursing school. Please help!

Hi Cayla,
Please relax, sweetie. I don't think you are pregnant. Changes in your menstrual cycle are a side effect of Next Choice. This means that your period can start earlier or later than normal. You can bleed heavier or lighter. This is what you experienced.

You mention that you are kind of young. Do you feel that you are really ready to be sexually active? If so, and you are not being pressured to have sex by your boyfriend, then you need to protect yourself from this kind of stress and an unwanted pregnancy.

If you are ready to be sexually active, you must start using some type of birth control regularly and you must protect yourself against the transmission of STDs.

I am 16. We have been dating for a very long time. We do use condoms every time, that time something happened and for some reason it broke. I am going on birth control but i hadn't been able to make an appt. for the doctors untill like next couple weeks. But thank you for commenting back!! Greatly appreciated.

Hi Anonymous,

It is common to have irregular periods for up to two cycles after taking the pill, so you may have residual side effects that you are experiencing now. If you need a piece of mind, take a pregnancy test after a miss period of 8-10 days. This way you should feel better.

Hope this helps.

Hi there! In February I took Plan B because I had unprotected sex (even though there was no ejaculation, I was just being really safe as I don't use the pill, only condoms/ovulation cycle). I got my period on schedule about 2.5 weeks later (didn't have any 'symptoms' or side affects from the Plan B) at the beginning of March and had a somewhat normal period - the bleeding was a bit heavier and choppy - I didn't bleed for a day and then did again for 3 or 4. So that all seemed normal. Not its the beginning of April and and I should have started my next period a few days ago but don't have any PMS symptoms, and I'm on day 34 of my cycle. Haven't taken a pregnancy test yet as I think I'm over worrying and its just a side effect of the Plan B? I did have sex once between March and April but it was within a few days of my period ending so in an "okay" time in my cycle and there was only a minute or so without a condom!

So my question is, is it a normal side effect of the Plan B to be affecting my NEXT period like this? Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated - also at what point should I take a pregnancy test?

Hi.

So I took Plan B on the first of Feb. ( Feb. 1, Wednesday, 2012). My period was supposed to be due on the 18th: it's now the 20th, and no period so far.

Should I be worried that I am still pregnant, despite taking the Plan B pill? I heard that the pill can delay or even make you skip your period at times but that does not help me smother my fears. Please help!

Hello Anon's--

Did you get your period eventually? Plan B can and most likely will cause a change in periods.

Please keep us posted,

Rosa

I've took 2 tests and it said I wasnt pregnant. I'm only 17 I cheer and I run track, I'm very active and Im pretty little only weighing 102 pounds I'm not sure if this has anything to do with me not getting my period, but can anyone help?
