I am on my 3rd week of pills and missed my 3rd pill for this week on Tuesday. I accidentally dropped the pill and couldn't find it. Had sex Wednesday morning but still took my regularly scheduled pill for that day. Is there a chance i could have conceived? Im very irregular on my period and won't start for months that's the reason i take these pills(Tri-Nessa). This is also my 1st month taking them so thats why I'm wondering if im at a high risk of being pregnant.

Thank you so much for the quick response. I do have an additional question. If it's possible i did conceive, do i continue the birth control? Also how long after should i take a pregnancy test?

If you think you might be pregnant, you should discontinue taking birth control pills, but use other preventative methods (condom, etc). There are early detection home pregnancy test available over the counter or you can have your doctor's office administer a blood test as well.

Hi Anon,
Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.
Anytime you engage in unprotected sex without proper birth control protection, you increase your risk. So yes, there is a chance that you could have conceived. You risk also increases because this is your first month on the pill. It is typically advised to use a secondary birth control method (condom, withdrawal method) at least for the first month.
Be well,
