Plan B and Birth control

Hello, I recent had sex on a Sunday (around 4 AM) which would be 2 days before my period was supposed to start (Tuesday). I am on Birth Control and take it religiously everyday at the same exact time to the minute. I take my pill at 8pm but alcohol was involved and I threw up around 2am. We also used a condom, however it came off at one point and I got extremely nervous so I took plan B within 6 hours of sex. What I think is my period came two days late on Thursday and is coming to an end today. Since I bled after taking plan b and it was right around the time of my normally expected period, can I assume that I am not pregnant? The reason I'm so concerned is because the last few days my nipples have been hard and erect however there is no pain or tingling associated. It is just a very annoying feeling to have running against my bra.is this just a side effect of plan b and should resolve itself soon enough

Guide

Dear Anon,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

It's not very likely you would be pregnant as your period was due and you have always been faithful with your pills. The bleeding means the ECP was effective. It can cause irregularity in your cycle, though, an early or late period, a lighter of heavier flow. If you are still concerned, you can test for pregnancy if only for peace of mind. HPTs are accurate 14-21 days after sex.
