Possibly pregnant?

I am over a week late the last time I had my period was Dec. 19th and according to my calculator I was supposed to get it Jan. 15th. So I have been waiting to see if it was just late due to stress or some other inconvenience. When I first started getting my period in 2007 I had irregular periods but I haven't missed a period since then. I had unprotected sex a couple days before my high fertility in November my period was light in December and I had unprotected sex on January 13th and haven't had a period. I haven't felt nauseous but I feel bloated and gasy and our cat has become really affectionate towards me in the past fee weeks when she usually hated me before. And the dog has become extremely protective over me. I haven't taken a test yet but I plan to at the begining of Feb. if I don't get it by then. Is there a chance I'm pregnant or could it be something else?

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.

Having unprotected intercourse causes pregnancy and having an irregular period after intercourse is a sign of pregnancy.  I suggest that you wait for another week or two however before taking a pregnancy test.  This is the best way of knowing whether or not you are pregnant.

So should I wait longer than the 1st because that would be 19 days after the last time I had unprotected sex.

Yes,

that would be a good time to take a pregnancy test.
