Q:

Really Light Period Post Plan B

The first day of my last period was March 25. On April 15 and 17 I had unprotected sex, and on April 16 I took Plan B just to be safe even though I was expecting my period that Saturday and as far as my period tracker knew I was not ovulating. I have read up on implantation bleeding and the side effects of plan B. My period started right on time yesterday but a lot lighter than usual. Yesterday was a mix of bright red and some brown gloopy stuff. Super light period but it did fill up the pads. Today I was out for hours and when I came home and changed the pad there was barley anything. I guess I’m just a bit worried even though I feel I shouldn’t be so I am looking for more opinions. I also just started birth control pills this morning.Thank you for your help

Guide

Hello. Thank you for posting.

Periods can be early or late, have a lighter or heavier flow as a result of ECP. These are some of the possible side effects. Your period should get back to normal by the second cycle. However, each woman is different and we cannot predict what each woman's experience will be with ECP. If you are still concerned, a pregnancy test can easily be taken.
