Hi kaykay1967,
March 7, 2011 - 8:17amThanks for joining EmpowHER. An oncologist is a specialist trained in the treatment of cancer. Is there a particular reason why you think you may need to see an oncologist? Have you been diagnosed with cancer, or some form of tumor? If you have, you absolutely may want to schedule an appointment with an oncologist. If you are currently working with a general practitioner, work with them to help identify treatment options and a team of specialists for dealing with your condition. For more information, please review the following:

Good luck, and let us know how you're doing, or if you need further information about a particular type of cancer.
