Q:

So I'm having issues with my period. My boyfriend and I have been having unprotected sex for the past year and in recent months I went off my birth control, in hopes I could get pregnant. Here is my issue, May I had a late period, June I didn't have one.

I skipped June altogether and now , around July 2nd or 3rd, I began to spot this light brown discharge and no blood. I didn't feel any cramps. The next day I'm lightly spotting blood, then later that day the bleeding get just a little darker but not as heavy nor as dark as my normal period, then on day threw it just vanished. I didn't feel any cramps when that occurred, but now my lower back is paining and I feel weird aches in my abdomen. The kicker is that in May and June I took pregnancy tests all which were negative (6 within a two month time span). I'm waiting to see what my body does next but I'm hoping that I can become pregnant eventually. Any similar situation or advice would help tremendously

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. It is likely that the spotting which you experienced at the beginning of this month was implantation bleeding.

Implantation bleeding is scanty pink or brown vaginal discharge that lasts a few days, does not increase to a menstrual flow, and goes away on its own. I suggest you take an early response pregnancy test any day now but do test in the morning. Use the urine when you first wake up.

Please keep us updated.

Regards,
Maryann

I'm back Maryann! Finally with an account. But I took an early pregnancy test Wednesday night, and it was negative. I was really disappointed. But here lately I've been having menstrual like cramps, white discharge, lots of gas, dizziness and bloating. I thought maybe I was putting myself through symptoms of phantom pregnancy, but even when I'm not thinking about it, I notice that I still feel everything.
I don't know what to do at the moment. Should I go to the doctor ? I'm very concerned to why I'm having these symptoms. Any help would be great.

Thank you for the info and advice Maryann, I get paid next Thursday so I will buy a test then and post my results. I really appreciate it! You've given me more answers than my own mother! Thank you!
