Hi Anon,

Although most of the time, gum swelling is related to gingivitis or periodontal disease, it seems like yours was caused by a virus or infection. You may have to wait until it is completely out of your system but if it does not seem to be going down and is painful, please contact your doctor.

Best wishes,

Rosa
