I am looking for some one who can help me understand why I fail at diets, emotionally is there something wrong. I've had weight issues for 45 years. I have tremendous will power when I am dieting but something always comes up to bring failure.

Hi,
July 15, 2011 - 4:30pmYes, there are physicians who promote themselves as diet doctors. However, there is no special training or board certification for this area of medicine, For example, a gastroenterologist is an internist with special training (usually 3 additional years of training).
A weight management program that is staffed with an internist, psychologist or counselor and a registered dietitian along with a support group might work best for you. Try an internet search for such a program. Some such programs focus on bariatric surgery. Bariatric surgery is not for everyone. Hopefully, this will get you started in the right direction.
