Hi i'm a 45 yr old female , who is very confused with what i have been experiencing for around 5yrs now. At home and around the house i feel fine, but once i go out onto the street i feel very dizzy , and even worse if im in a queue ( shop or bank ), i get hot and sweaty , and lean onto things to stable me and my heart starts racing and i start to shake a little, i have had to walk out of places in fear of me fainting, i do not go anywhere on my own anymore, i would be so so grateful if you could help me as to what it might be. It seems to be getting worse , and i have not yet spoken to my own gp about it. many thanks annette.

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your question. I may be wrong here but it certainly sounds like to me that you may be suffering from agoraphobia or the fear of going outside or being in large crowds. Have you ever tried going to speak to a therapist about this? It sounds more like anxiety rather than a vertigo issue.

I hope this helps and good luck,

Missie
