I have PTSD from rape, and I was wondering if I would need to be on medication to help me sleep or if there are some other methods too. Thank you.

I have gone through and succeeded in counseling; however, I still have issues with sleeping. Thanks for your input. Have a great week.

It is not surprising that you experience insomnia considering the trauma of being raped. Are you currently receiving counseling or therapy for PTSD?

I think falling asleep may be linked to feeling a loss of control over your life or a situation or a sense of vulnerability. Therapy for PTSD may have the added benefit of helping with your insomnia.

Best wishes,

Maryann
