I am 37 yrs old.... I had the Mirena for 5 yrs... The Mirena was removed in June 2009... Afterwards I had major blood-clotting during my monthly(s) and had a biopsy done which showed I am (was) still able to conceive.... My Husband and I are trying to have a child.... I have not had my monthly since mid Feb. My breasts are sore & tender... Is it Pre-menopause or ????

Hi CountryGal7175,

Where both of these tests home pregnancy tests? I suggest you consult your gynecologist, who know your medical history. Lab work to check hCG and thyroid levels may be in order.

Guide

Hello CountryGal7175,

Have you tested for pregnancy?

If you have and the result was negative, then other possible causes of a missed period must be explored.

Some women begin to experience perimenopausal symptoms, such as a missed period, as early as their 30s. A hormonal imbalance, stress, and a major weight gain or loss are just three additional reasons why you have not gotten a period since February.

Regards,

Maryann
