Hello everyone,
I've been on Yasmin for about two years now, always took the pill on time. My question is this, I finished my period on Friday July 17th, on Sunday July 19th I was suppose to start a new pack of my active pill, however I was on vacation last week, and forgot my pills at home, and missed a whole week of my first week of active pills. When I got back, I started my first week of the pack on Sunday the 25th. I wanted to find out, will I be getting my period this coming up month, once I start taking the sugar pill? Will missing one week, and starting the new pack a week later mess up my body, and how long will it take for my body to adjust to the pill again? I'm not worried about getting pregnant, for I've been single for about two months, and not sexually active, I'm more worried about how long will it take for my body to get back on schedule with my periods and all. Thanks in advance for any inofmation you can share with me.

I recently notice that I'm a day behind on my birth control I didn't know till today I'm on Wednesday but today's Thursday what should I do? I also can't remember why day I missed it I remember taking it Monday and Sunday so I must if missed it Saturday or Friday I think.. Plz help I'm on active pills

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for your question. Take two active birth control pills today to make up for the missed dose and to stay on track with today's dose.

I missed 4 days of my pill first week of active pills when I realized I took 2 pills and left the rest. I now have my period I was just wondering how long it will last? and should I skip my placebo pills at the end of this packet and start a new one or will I get my period as usually on the placebo pills?

Thank you for your question. I do not know how long your period will last. I would not worry unless it went beyond seven days. Do not take the placebo pills. Discard all remaining pills in this pack. Once your period has ended, start a new pack. Double check with your gynecologist if you still have concerns.

I stop my pill on a Tuesday now on Friday and Saturday I was cramping sunday morning am bleeding I think its my period but I wasn't supposed to start for another 2 weeks is it normal for yr period to come back on this fast??

Hello Anonymous,
When you stop taking an active hormone containing pill before you should, you will experience break through bleeding. That is why you started having vaginal bleeding.
Why did you stop taking your pills? Consult your gynecologist before you start a new pack, if you plan to. Be sure to use another form of birth control if you are sexually active and not planning to become pregnant.

Well, if you plan to be sexually active while away, use an alternate form of birth control. Be prepared to start your period. Start a new pack when you return home. Double check with your gynecologist when you return home.

Hi, I do have a similar question on this topic. I have been off birth control pills for two years. Last month I decided to start. I started my pills (provident) a week late after the last day of my period. I do have an upcoming trip around the third week of my active cycle pills. I am worried that I will get my period while on vacation during these active pills since I started the pack a week late. I am starting my third week of active pills and experiencing some slight premenstrual cramping and bloating..is this normal? Can I still get my period on the active pills since I started late? Will my beach vacation this week be ruined? What can I do.. Help!!!
