what is treatment for sunburnt eyeballs

Hi im 13 years old and yesterday i was swimming in my pool and when i got out my eyes where kinda stinging and a little red what could this mean please help me im really scared i don't want a fake eye :(

Hi Anon,

Thanks for your question. If you were in a swimming pool, chances are that it can be caused by the pH or chloramine in the pool. The pH in your eyes is extremely sensitive and can be easily altered.

For future reference, it is always best to use swimming goggles and help prevent the irritating, burning, pain.

Hi Anon,

Thanks for your post. Can you give us a little more information?
I am assuming that you were out in the sun with no eye protection?
Have you been to a doctor? It is very important that a doctor assesses any damage that the sun may have done to your eyes and determine which form of treatment is best. I would not recommend any home remedies or over the counter treatments for a burnt eyeball without having been seen by a doctor.
