When a woman has a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection), painful sex is a potential symptom. Sexual intercourse puts pressure on the urethra and bladder, which is already inflamed due to the infection.
Sex usually makes UTI symptoms worse. Medical professionals recommend that women avoid sex until symptoms have been gone for at least 2 weeks.
Although it may be hard to abstain from sex, it really is best.
