There's a new study that just came out in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and I want to share it with you all in case it might be helpful info. Apparently, according to study results, women who douche are increasing their risk of catching a sexually transmitted disease by 180%. The reason is because douches kill the helpful microorganisms in the vagina that help fight off infection-causing bacteria.
I know that my gynecologist has always advised against douching, but I imagine there are women out there who do, simply because there are a number of douche products out there. Sounds like we don't need to buy them!
