After a fun 4th of July weekend at the lake, I fell asleep in my contacts on the last night. Big mistake! I woke up at 3a.m. and realized this. I hurried to the bathroom and took them out but the all-day swimming, canoeing and fishing had sealed the contact to my eye causing bacteria to create an ulcer (or "infiltrators" as one doctor called them). I can't explain how uncomfortable it is: pain, sensitivity to light (oh the sensitivity to light is the worst!), redness, watery eyes.
Being new to this small town, I didn't have an eye doctor. The first one I went to seemed inexperienced, which made me feel uncomfortable. He insisted on seeing me 3 times in the week. After the second visit (and after he told me my eye had gotten worse) I opted to seek out someone else (an MD).
My next doctor gave me more powerful eye drops, and said I had an ulcer on my eye.
Has anyone had this happen to them? If so, how long did it take for your eyes to feel better?
Thank for your help!

Hi Jenny!
I hope the new eye drops are helping at all! I feel your pain all too much! I'm getting flash backs of this happening to me but it was with an ulcer! :(
No fun! Hope you heal quick!!
The only advice I can say is to wear your glasses for 2-3 weeks and always take your contacts out. Hope this helps! :)

I hope your eye starts to feel better, Jenny! From your pictures, your eye definitely looks unhappy. I wish I could help!
Has anyone else experienced this or know someone who has?
