A week ago I had a lumpectomy to remove two small lumps of cancer. My surgeon was Dr. Victor Zannis who was referred to me by Michelle Robson of EmpowHer. Who would know better, right? Was she ever right! I went home from outpatient surgery and went straight to bed for two hours. When I woke up I had NO PAIN! It has been a week, the wounds have closed, and I have not taken a single pain pill, not even a Tylenol, ever since I got home! My incisions are very narrow, one in the armpit for the lymph node he took out to test, and one on the areola of my left breast. Neither will show much at all. He used steri-strips instead of stitches. Not only is Dr. Zannis a great surgeon and very knowledgeable about breast cancer, but he is also a kind and caring man who spends a lot of time with his patients. I highly recommend him. His office is 35 miles from my house, and there are many breast surgeons closer, but I wanted the best!
