I had been told over the phone that I had breast cancer. And that it was stage three.I was so scared. But not just for me but my two littleones Kevin Garrett. They didnt need to see Mom sick. I was told that the best course of treatment would be chemo and radiation. But on top of the cancer before treatment even begun The doctor collapsed my lung. Now I have more troubles besides cancer. Now in 2007 my sister also has been told she has lung cancer. I know that I have to really trust in the Lord to see me and my sister thru this. Pray for us Candace Wene'

Hey Candace, it sounds like you've been through a lot between battling your own cancer and supporting your sister through hers. One of the things that women do best is listen and learn from one another, so while you're both enduring a difficult time, you have each other to lean on.
In addition to Coach Virginia's great recommendations, I would also like to share the experiences of other women who are familiar with what you and your family are going through. Melissa Waller is a writer on our site who is battling lung cancer. She is in her early 30s.
Read Melissa Wallers story on her battle with lung cancer.
Glynis, like you, is a breast cancer survivor and quit her corporate job to start her own business selling tea after an oncologist recommended she drink more of it.
Learn more about Glynis and her battle with breast cancer.
Please share ways you and your sister are working through your conditions. I'm sure other women have much to learn from you as well.

Dear Candace, I am so sorry to read about your journey with breast cancer and your sister's situation. I cannot even imagine the sorrow and anxiety this presents in your life. I'd like to suggest a couple of things for you both. Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD has focused his work on Mindfulness-based meditation for cancer patients. He offers many programs to people like you and your doctor can actually refer you to attend his program at the University of Massachusets Medical School. Here are a couple of links for you to consider: http://www.umassmed.edu/behavmed/faculty/kabat-zinn.cfm
and http://www.umassmed.edu/cfm/pom/index.aspx?linkidentifier=id&itemid=41276
Or you can purchase his CDs and try his program at home. Bill Moyer wrote a lot about the work Dr Kabat-Zinn is doing to help cancer patients. Prayer is a powerful thing too and if you are Christian, I suggest requesting a prayer at this site: www.pathtofaith.com I have heard many healings have taken placed after Dr Nemeh prayed over people in person and/or over the phone. I will also keep you and your sister in my daily prayers.
