Day 1, 13% Waxing Crescent
Thought for Today: I once heard an interesting definition of fear. It said that fear is false evidence appearing real. I can’t help but wonder, though, if there’s validity to certain fears, and if there’s a way to tell if our fear is rational or irrational.
Mood: Acceptance – Letting Go of Fear
Today I started my period, right on the clock, as predicted by my Period Tracker. An old cycle just ended and a new cycle has just begun.
This is usually a curious and challenging time for me, because certain deep emotions often emerge to the surface to be dealt with and subsequently released.
This time it was fear. “What am I going to do when I run out of my savings?” “What if…” As these thoughts percolated in my mind, I began to notice fear slowly occupying my inner space.
Instead of chasing it out all at once, I decided to be with it for a while, to feel it and to understand it.
What I realized was that some of my fear made sense. It was rational and had a basis in reality. Besides, when women menstruate, security and comfort are certainly on the top of our list. It’s understandable that I have a greater desire for it at this time.
On the other hand, some of my fear was irrational because things I feared were not even here yet, but far into the future.
Now that I understand what it’s trying to tell me, I can let it go…

Cycle Harmony’s Mood Scale is based on Dr. David Hawkins' "Map of Consciousness." Each mood category is assigned a numerical score from the lowest 1 (shame) to the highest 16 (peace). Moods with a score of 9-16 support life, and moods with a scale of 1-8 deplete life.
The purpose of the Mood Scale is to help you understand your emotional patterns and make a conscious decision to feel more positive emotions by bringing awareness to how you feel.
