Day 27, 5% Waning Crescent
Mood: Relieved
My boyfriend has a habit of taking a 20-minute walk every day after lunch. It’s one of his daily health rituals. I, on the other hand, hardly take a break after lunch. Most of the time I go right back to work.
Today I decided to join him for his loop around the neighborhood. We scrolled leisurely while checking out the flowers, listening to the birds and enjoying the lovely weather.
It was so nice! I felt happy and alive.
But this walk woke me up to a sad reality…
Recently, I’ve spent so much time worrying about the future that I’ve closed my eyes to what I have – the wonderful blessings around me – some simple and unassuming, but all real and meaningful.
If I continue to live for the future instead of the now, I’ll miss the beauty and enjoyment and simple pleasures of this period of my precious life.
I shall enjoy what I have now. The future will work itself out. It always does…
Do you keep a daily mood journal? It’s a small ritual that will make a big difference in your life.

Hi cycleharmony,
I am glad that you made that realization-live and enjoy today. Though we do need to focus on the future to some degree, such as save for the future and not spend every dollar that we earn or take care of our health now so that we can prevent major health issues, we can miss today while looking toward tomorrow.
Remember, today will never come again!
