Being an advocate for women’s health, I want to take a minute and encourage the EmpowHER community to take a look at the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. On our site we discuss how health insurance affects birth control, contraception and more. However, it is very important to discuss with your physician how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act affects you personally and as well as your family. It is different for everyone and it is our responsibility as women, mothers and wives to advocate for the health of our families and for proper health care. Our country is gearing up for a close Presidential election in less than a month and it is our responsibility to educate ourselves and understand that policies happening in Washington D.C. are affecting us at home. Don’t be afraid to speak to your health care provider and employer, we are here to help you and answer your questions.
You are your own best advocate,
Michelle

Hello Michelle,
It is very important for all of us to educate ourselves regarding the health care policies coming out of Washington. We are the best advocates for our own health and the health of our families.
