Ok I can identify myself...my name is Pattye (anonymous from the Midwest) and I had a 2nd D/C in June due to all the bleeding & endometria buildup I'd had from using the hormones. This is also after NOT taking them since November. My experience with the testosterone was horrible, the prometrium gave me terrible cramps. The only thing I liked was the estrogen. Yes, my arthritis pain is back but it's worth it to again think clearly, not have cramps daily, not feel like I have ADD (from the testosterone)not be preoccupied with thinking about sex (from the testosterone) etc, etc, etc, If you want my last name & address you can request my email account.

Sorry Janna47 for starting out as "anonymous." I did try to upload a picture and will finish the details. I was at work and do not feel comfortable there and have little time at home. Deborah

New to forum. Age 47 postmeopausal caused by Graves Disease-thyroid disorder. First implant scheduled on Aug 25. The one thing I think women should consider is all the money spent on other things. $100.00 a month to feel good again is not expensive in my opinion. Considering that I have no life as I am right now, no joy, depressed, exhausted and miserable this seems like a very small price to pay. Not saying it wouldn't be nice for insurance companies to get on board. But I think all women should ask themselves what is my life worth? I have a beautiful home, 6 grandchildren and a wonderful husband but can not enjoy all that I have because of the debilitating symptoms of this condition. MONEY should never come before your happiness. I have learned the hard way...you can have everything and if you feel bad and have no joy...its all worthless.

Hello All!
July 28, 2010 - 5:41amI have suffered with hot fashes however the lack of enrgy is mind-boggling, really. My thinking is confused and my temperment is way off. I researched the bio-identical hormone replacement area and found it to be a good choice for me. I just returned from my doctor yesterday. I had 10 of E and 112 T inserted. He numbed the area and there was NO discomfort at all... and I have a VERY low pain threshold In two weeks I should see an improvement in sleeping and hot flashes. In 4-5 weeks, mental clarity and mood changes. I have to take Prometrium for the first ten days of each month. I will be happy to let you all know how I make out with this treatment.

I'm 57 years young, went through menopause naturally at age 50 - no surgery. Hot flashes started at age 39 and still have them! Also, since menopause at age 50, the libido is non-existent. From blood test results, I am a little on the low side of testosterone. Have taken a testosterone injection in the past and it just made me very irritable. My weight is great for my age 5'7" and 133, but do not want to gain weight on this treatment. I have an appointment to have the SottoPelle Pellets inserted next month and truly hope it will help in these areas.

Anon,
Good luck on success with your treatment! I hope that you will come back here and tell us about your experience once you're a little ways down the road with the pellets. As you can see, women have had very different experiences with them.
Can you write a little bit about what made you decide on this course of HRT? (I'm always fascinated by how women work through the HRT question for themselves, as I am in the middle of it as well.)

I am 39, had a complete hysterectomy 4 years ago. I just got another dose of pellets two days ago. When I moved last year, I couldn't find a doctor nearby that did the pellets, and so I made the drive back across state to have them done again. It had been a year, so my labs showed what I instinctively knew, that my hormones were "bottomed out".
The Nurse Practicioner(she also gets the Sottopelle pelletes) and I thought it might take longer to feel the effects, but it hasn't and now I am going nuts! I have felt so miserable for months now, that my house is a disaster and now I just feel up to cleaning it but . . . I have to wait three days for that bending, stooping, etc. That is going to be my challenge this time around . . . waiting until I CAN do what I finally FEEL like doing!
