I just discovered I had prolaspe although I think it was coming on for a long time, I had 4 vaginal births and a hysterectomy many years ago. I have terrible pressure, no leakage or bare protruding and I went to Urogynocologist and didn't want the surgery yet, I have a pessary which helps but I have found that a super tampon works very well,I change it daily sometimes 2 times and then I use the pessary at times. Too many complications with surgery and I have talked to people that said the surgery lasted only 1 year, for now I will continue what I am doing, hope this can help someone.

Thanks for the comments. I will try a tampon. My prolapse is bad. had the bladder lift surgery, it did not last very long. I wont try the mesh because of all the problems women have had with it. A pessary worked for awhile but then i started getting uti’s and anxiety. My chiropractor said it was probably putting pressure on my spine and nervous system.

if you are using a tampon and having problems it may be because the cotton is absorbing all the moisture drying out the vaginal walls. Which over time can weaken the walls. I tie a condom over it lubricate with an aloe based lubricant and it works great ! I have bladder prolapse.

You might want to try using estace cream. It will it can help with vaginal dryness and improve the condition if the lining of the vagina. I want to try the over the counter tampon like devices and plan to use the cream for comfort. I am scheduled for surgery kin a couple weeks and am worried about success as well as sexual issues. Bladder prolapse is really uncomfortable.

Hi Blondie,
I did a quick search but did not see any new treatments for prolapse. How did it go with the Gelhorn pessary? Are you still seeing the PT? I don't know why sex would be improved unless you have developed better muscle tone from doing the kegal exercises so you can consciously control tightening those muscles more.

Michele, please read my above comment and let me know if there is any new things on this subject, it is uncomfotable at times but it hasn't interfered with my working or exercise as long as I wear something, i feel almost normal, as a good note to this, I don't know why during our sexual activity I have more feeling and it is better than before, could this be because everything is fallen down, my husband is not complaining:-) any other comments on this?

Let me know how you are doing, the tampon works really well if you put it in right, sometimes they slip out right away but i just insert another, I alternate this with the pessary sometimes, it slips so i just push it in, it is all very annoying but anything but surgery right now, i have heard surgery doesn't always last so I will continue this...I just know how terribly uncomfortable it is with out anything, especially ny nighttime, so good luck to all us prolaspe people!!

Michele, thanks for the quick response, I will mention the Gelhorn to my gyno, also the cube, i will try both, I think the gelhorn looks like it may work..A large tampon works but I give my body a rest from the tampons, today I wore the Fembrace which actually felt o.k. It isn't perfect but today it seemed better, I have had it on all day and I am going to try to wear it more. I was out quite a bit today and walked alot without too much pressure, I will try to wear it to work this week and switch around with my other options..I know I am getting wordy but its so helpful to get your advice, sometimes I get so discouraged. My gyno has become a friend to me so that helps. Thanks so much again, Blondie

I came home and after three hours I felt like I had to have a bowel movement and I did along with the pessary came out . what a relief it was. I am concidering having my vagina close to end my problem as me and my husband are not sexually active anymore. what is your take on this ? I would like anyone to tell me if it is ok and has it solved their problems.
