Coronary artery disease is a process that affects the arteries, which supply the heart with blood and essentially what you have is hardening of the arteries, plaque formation, which is essentially cholesterol buildup in the arteries.

This is a condition, which in its severest form can lead to heart attacks and even death. Coronary artery disease is extremely common and cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the country.

There are a number of symptoms that can be a sign of coronary artery disease. Perhaps some of the classic symptoms involve chest pain, which can at times radiate into the arm or into the jaw, shortness of breath can also be a sign of coronary artery disease. Other patients can have less specific symptoms such as generalized fatigue or weakness. So there are number of symptoms that can be a clue as to the onset of coronary artery disease.
