Joanna shares if the pediatrician recommended she bring her daughter to an ear specialist.
Yes, it took a while, but they did that because they were concerned about the time of year. They said, “Oh, well, it’s just, you know, a lot of kids are coming in. It’s a time of year where a lot of kids are getting sick. So let’s wait a little longer,” and finally we just said, “We think there’s something wrong.”
My husband, I didn’t know this until he had mentioned that “Oh, by the way, I had tubes in my ears,” and his whole family, his brother had tubes in his ears, same thing with the sister so on his side of the family. There were a lot of kids that had it. So that, plus the ear infections, we just said, “You know what, we need to go to a specialist.” And they agreed, and they said, “Okay, it’s time,” and so they referred us to a great ENT [ear, nose and throat specialist], and we took it from there.
