Menopause: What Are Your Symptoms?

Sue shares the menopause symptoms she has experienced since her elective hysterectomy procedure.

Sue:
Right now I don’t really have much in the way of hot flashes as much as I do the night sweats. I pretty much get those almost every night, and you wake up and you are drenched. Your hair’s wet; your pillow is wet; your bed is wet; you are sweating all over and it’s very uncomfortable and usually it wakes me up two or three times during the night. Where I’ve literally, I have a king size bed and I literally have to keep moving over and over and over to find dry patches to be able to be comfortable enough to go back to sleep.

So, I do use a, I think it’s an estradiol cream that supposedly helps and actually I tried to go off of it once and it didn’t change anything in terms of sweats. I didn’t get hot flashes, but what I did notice was the aches and pains that used to be associated with fibromyalgia, just mild, but enough that I started noticing and I was taking Tylenol two or three times a day where I hadn’t been before. So, I think that that helps, the hormone replacement that I do take now, definitely helps with the aches and the pains.

The best thing that I've found for night sweats are wicking pajamas. You can find them online at Cool-jams or other wicking pajama companies.
