Missy Shares If Forcep Use Caused Her Incontinence (VIDEO)

Missy describes if forcep use during the vaginal delivery of her baby caused urinary incontinence.

Missy:
Forceps added increased risk of pelvic floor damage. So, in the right hands I have been told that they can be a very effective tool for guiding a baby that’s stuck in the birth canal, maybe down a couple of centimeters. The problem is, residents receive very little training on how to effectively use forceps. So, often times babies are literally pulled out that creates a lot of damage to the mother. I do not blame them. I think they were one of a menu of things that got me to where I was.
