Hello, my name is Meg Hughes-Garvey and I am the founder/editor of ExerciseYourBeauty.com. As a Clinical Exercise Physiologist I see the benefits of exercise everyday in my patients, however I have been increasingly frustrated at how our society views beauty and the negative impact that it can have on our psyche. Exercise Your BeautyTM is a place where blogging meets online magazine and will soon meet online studio to bring the essence of true beauty back :)
Beauty radiates from the inside out...so why do we stress over the outside without thinking of what’s going on inside?! The phrase “beauty is only skin deep” comes to mind; as a society we learn just that. What we look like on the outside predicts who we date, what job we have, and what we accomplish...and I’m done. Through the articles and information on this site we will learn to appreciate our bodies as unique and beautiful while on the road to forming a healthier relationship with food and exercise.
Mind Body Fitness has reached a point where we need to think of the connection of not only how we move the body but becoming knowledgeable about what is going into, onto, and just plain what’s going on inside our bodies. By becoming aware of how our bodies react/respond to exercise, what is in the meals we eat and drink, and why we crave certain foods as certain times, as well as what is in the make-up and other household products we use, it can give us a lot of information on how to lead healthier, happier lives.
