Heather Jose: Let's Talk About Life With Cancer

Hey there Survivors, Caregivers, Health Care Providers…You’ll be hearing from me a little more often from now on. I’m happy to say that EmpowHer is my new blogging home, along with my own site www.GoBeyondTreatment.com. I’m looking forward to getting to know you a little better and to spend a lot of time on issues that are relevant to survivorship.

It is an individual journey, that I know, but there are many things that we all have in common. We all want to live with a high quality of life. We all want to be heard. We all want our needs to be met in the cancer world and outside of it.

It is my intent to talk about life with cancer. As a ten-year survivor of stage IV cancer it is really hard to remember life without it.

What the issues that you want to talk about? I would love to know. I have my own perspective of course, but blogs are so much better with input.

Let’s have an awesome open discussion about life with cancer.

Just so you know… I want to keep it positive. There is enough negative out there already. As a survivor I live for hope and joy and another day with my family. I believe that I can make a difference with a positive attitude. We can talk about the tough stuff, but it isn’t going to drag us down.
So come on, join me on this journey. I can’t wait to hear from you.

We value and respect our HERWriters' experiences, but everyone is different. Many of our writers are speaking from personal experience, and what's worked for them may not work for you. Their articles are not a substitute for medical advice, although we hope you can gain knowledge from their insight.
