I completely understand your concern. You think you have had a permanent procedure done, and then find out that it doesn't always work. I'm sorry you had to go through losing a child. I know first hand how heart-wrenching it is. From what I have read, tubal ligation is roughly 99% effective at preventing an egg and sperm from meeting and fertilizing. That does mean that in 1% of women who have the procedure done, the tubes attempt to repair themselves, and the woman may be able to conceive. If you are very concerned, you may want to use a backup birth control method to assure no chance of getting pregnant.
