I really do believe that we don't know enough about uterine ablation as we should. I've heard stories of women having the procedure, being happy with the result, but later on having to have a hysterectomy. At one point when I was having unbearably heaving bleeding each month, my gynecologist at the time recommended thermal ablation and really pressured me to sign the consent form the very day she told me to consider the procedure. I hesitated, thank goodness, and didn't sign on to have it done, instead trying a more conservative route of going on birth control. My issue was solved with the pill, and I'm grateful I didn't have a procedure done that I don't think has been studied enough.
