Hi jo_jo369,
I can say from experience that the period is normal (your period can change month to month with slight variances), the discharge is typical of being in the second week of your menstrual cycle. It's what happens when you are getting ready to ovulate. Other types of discharge may include a more stretchy type of "egg white"-like fluid, and then of course the normal red, rusty, or more brownish menstruation fluid. As far as the problems keeping food down, is it possible you experienced a slight tummy bug, or excessive stress of some kind? Just asking.
If you are not trying to get pregnant, you may want to consider more effective birth control like condoms, birth control pills, and spermicide creams (let us know if you need more information on this). If you are trying to get pregnant, keep at it. And you may want to ramp up the efforts now if you're still getting that discharge.
Good luck and let us know how you're doing.
