Bleeding in between periods (breakthrough bleeding) is a known side effect of taking emergency contraception. It also can mess up your regular cycle, so your regular period also may be late this month, so you may want to prepare for that. Keep track when you get it, and when next month's comes so you will know what your "new regular" cycle should be.
