What you experienced may have been breakthrough bleeding from missing your pill. Anytime you forget to take your pills, it does increase the risk of pregnancy. However, making up your pills as soon as you realize you have an extra one helps. Keep taking them, and try to keep on track for the rest of your pack. Start your new pack when this one runs out. If you miss your period, you can take a pregnancy test, or request one from the doctor who prescribed your pills.
