Cervical fluid does change in early pregnancy. When the lining of the uterus thickens to support a pregnancy, the cervical fluid also thickens to "plug" the cervix for the duration of the pregnancy. This discharge commonly will be thick and white. It should not have a foul odor. If you experience a foul odor, itching, or bleeding, contact your doctor.
