Thanks for your question and for finding EmpowHER. What did the doctor prescribe? Is it an oral medication, or suppository? A topical cream could still be used, just like an oral medication could too, but I'm not sure about the suppository if you are expecting your period. You may want to call your doctor's office and ask them what they suggest, or ask your pharmacist when you pick up the prescription. Be sure to follow up on this and get it treated so it won't persist and cause you more discomfort.
