IS MY SON FACING AUTISM?

my son just turned one year old. i have recently been told he needs to be evaluated for possible disablities. of course ive researched and the majority of his signs show autism. He is very high tempered..you have to walk on eggshells wondering what will set him off next, repetitive hand movements(right hand, constant waving and balling of right fist rubbing on side of his face), what appeared to be hearing problems but hearing tests show he has should be hearing fine. In a room full of people or kids, he plays alone, he has "zoned out" since birth...he zones for about 15-30 secs and its impossible to get his attention.What most concerns me is that he shows no intrest in games(peek a boo, patty cake ect) and he only says mama or dada nothing else. he points and hum's at everything. doesnt attempt acual words no matter how hard we work with him. Sooo my question: Do any of these things point to anything besides autism? does it sound as though autism is where we are heading? As a parent how to i help, what is in the future for him and I??
