Hi, I have a question about starting birth control late. I was supposed to start my birth control on Sunday July 9th but was unable to start until Sunday July 16th. Now I have 4 pills left and I still haven't started my period. Had sex the week I was off birth control but used protection. Anyways, I am now almost 2 weeks late for my period. Regular symptoms of starting birth control a week late or could this be pregnancy?

Hello Anon

This irregularity may be due to starting so late. These pills follow the body's natural cycle. Since you used protection, you should be fine, you'll just have to wait it out for your period. You're not really two weeks late, since starting birth control changes the cycle straight away. A pregnancy test can give you peace of mind.
Best,
Susan
