So my first month of taking birth control is finally almost over... & it's been "HELL". X.x; a week before taking the colored pills... I had a breakthrough bleeding, which gradually became heavy bleeding and major cramps. Then slowly when I was close to taking the colored pills, the bleeding was light. Once I took my first colored pill as scheduled, the major cramps and heavy bleeding started all over again & it's still going on. I have one more colored pill to take until I move onto my next case of pills. The side effects are also terrible for me, mostly the cramps (which I barely have before starting the pills), bloating and slight depression. I am afraid that this is going to continue for the 2nd month and if it does... if I should just change birth control brands or shall I still wait until after 3 months to change brands? ><;

michee21 - Patient ratings show that some women have a lot of difficulty with this brand, while others have found it a vast improvement over other brands.

Here's what the manufacturer says about side effects: Most side effects of the pill are not serious. The most common are nausea, vomiting, bleeding or spotting between menstrual periods, weight gain, breast tenderness, and difficulty wearing contact lenses. These side effects, especially nausea and vomiting, may decrease or subside within the first three months of use.

Here's more information from other women who have provided 500+ patient reviews: http://www.askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?drug=17355&name=LOESTRIN%20FE%201.5/30

The decision on whether to continue with this brand, or change, is of course yours. I hope this information helps you in making an informed decision, and wish you the best.
