Birth control pill, unprotected sex, morning after pill, period?

I have been taking birth control pills for 4 months now and on Friday 8th was the last day of my pill before I had to go through withdrawal bleeding for six days. Late Saturday/early Sunday I had unprotected sex and though the guy did pull out, it's not always a trustworthy method. I always get my period on Tuesday's but I didn't get it. Sunday morning after I went home, I was getting worked up about possibly being pregnant and on Monday afternoon after 35 hours of unprotected sex, I brought the morning after pill. Tuesday morning at midnight, I went to the bathroom and there was red blood on my tissue like a period but then throughout Tuesday and Wednesday, there was no sign of my period except for when I woke up in the morning and I'd wipe and there'd be the blood. I take my new pack of birth control pills today (Thursday) and I'm really worried that I am pregnant.

Hi RandomSammy,

You need to read all the literature that comes with your Pill. Having sex on your pill-free week is not unprotected; you are protected from pregnancy (but not disease/infection).  So taking emergency contraception is redundant and causes your cycle to change.

Continue taking your pills as usual when you start and I'm sure you'll be fine.  Don't use emergency contraception unless you have taken no birth control at all.
