My last period was on November 4th 2012. I had sex throughout the month of November. On the 25th of November however the condom broke! My cycles are 33 days long and I was due to start on the 7th of December. Imagine my surprise when I started YESTERDAY (12/2/12) 5 days early! Is this normal? Should I be worried? Any advice? Thanks

That's okay. I understand that you ladies have lots of questions to answer. I have never started it 5 days earlier a day or 2 yes but never 5. I think this is just my period. I was thinking it could have been implantation bleeding but I am on CD 4 and I think it's just my period.

Hello Angelwings23,
Some women experience bleeding after taking Plan B. It is neither rare nor common. The bleeding is called a "withdrawal bleed" and is not menstruation. It is caused by the change in hormone levels. It is more common when Plan B is taken earlier in the cycle. Plan B can alter when the next period occurs. It can be delayed or come early. This is also related to changes in hormone levels.
There is no need for worry.

Hi Maryann. I think you may have confused my question with someone else's. I did not take Plan B and never have.

Hello Angelwings23,
I am so sorry about that. Is this the first time you have ever started your period earlier than normal? During the course of her reproductive years, a woman can have an occasional earlier than normal start. If you continue to experience irregular menstrual cycles and are concerned, you can consult your physician.
