Hi Im a 17 year old girl who is confused about what is happening to me right now. Please help me and i really would appreciate a good detailed answer. Ok so my period just ended 4 days ago and 2 days after my period ended i had some brown blood in my underwear i thought it was just some leftover blood that got left out from my recent period. But after 1 day of what happened i have a watery discharge with a little bit of blood mixed in but it was mostly sticky clear discharge. Why is this happening? In so scared now because i fear that it is implantation bleeding and i might be pregnant. I am in a relationship but i am saving intercourse until marriage. Im a virgin but me and my bf do other things too but we dont go all the way. Is it possible to be pregnant with fingering, mutual masturbation, or oral. We are always very careful and he washes his hands before touching me if he touched himself before. But im just scared and confused. Am i pregnant? Can this be implantation bleeding?

Hey, I'm Dakota. I'm 18 years old and have had a period since I was 10. I had a baby on March 20th or this year, and just started my period this month. It was the full length that I had before I had gotten pregnant, a week later (today) I started spotting, I placed a panty liner on and an hr later, its filled with blood. what can this be?

(Yes I'm having unprotected sex. No, I'm not on birth control.)

Hello Dakota,

Thank you for your question.
The menstrual cycle is regulated by a delicate balance of hormones. Following the delivery of your baby, your body had to readjust and the hormone had to get back in sync.

Considering you only started menstruating again since giving birth and a week later you are spotting, you need to talk with your obstetrician. Your doctor may choose to have you come into the office to be evaluated and possibly will order blood tests to check hormone levels.

Can someone help? I have been on the pill for awhile now and am sexually active. I ended my period 3 days ago and had unprotected sex with my boyfriend the day i ended and sex today but he has never finished inside of me and did not today either. The sex today didnt hurt but was a little more rough than usual and when i got home i went to the bathroom and whiped and there was pink discharge on the paper. Is it possible that i cpuld be pregnant this soon after my period? Or was it just from the penetration of my cervix that can sometimes cause bleeding? Could it be pregnancy spotting only three days after my period?? Someone help please

Hello Anonymous,

It would be too soon to have become pregnant. Because you just finished your period, it was to early for ovulation to occur.

Why do you say you had unprotected sex if you are on birth control pills?

The pink discharge could have been caused by irritation to your cervix.

Maryann

Thank you for the reply! I meant we do not use a condom, but yes i am taking birth control. I had sex today and sorry for the details but when we did doggy style it kind of hurt this time. I dont know if i was just thinking too much about it but the pinkish bleeding stopped today

Okay I am 34 years old and have been having periods since I was 8 years old. My periods have always lasted just three days. I started my period on Thursday and by Sunday it was done which is my normal. All day Sunday no bleeding and all day Monday no bleed, but then today I start bleeding again. This time the blood is a very bright red color were normally it is a red orange color.

Could this be signs on pre-menopause? I know normally people do not reach this stage until in their 40's, but sine I started a lot earlier then many girls could that be the reason?

Hi hsmth2-

It's hard to know what caused this. It could be changes in your life, such as stress that impacted your hormones, which caused your cycle changes. If you continue to see a trend of changes in your cycle over the next few months that would be a more likely sign of reaching perimenopause.

Hope that helps,

Pam

Hello Anonymous,

Thank you for coming to us with your concern. Considering your age, I am assuming that you have not been menstruating for a long time.
In the beginning, it is not unusual for a teenager's periods to be irregular.

Your menstrual cycle is regulated by hormones. Your body is still adjusting to the changes that occur with puberty and the start of menstruation. The menstrual flow is actually the lining of your uterus that is shed in the absence of pregnancy. The brown discharge is older remnants and the few drops of blood are any remaining particles of the uterine lining.

Maryann
