BRCA testing can be expensive and not all insurance companies cover the costs. If there is a strong family history of cancer and or breast cancer, then this test might prove useful for those women who could possibly be carriers of the gene. I would suggest talking it over with a doctor so that an individual can carefully weigh the benefits and risks before deciding on doing this test.
