Can anyone explain why I have pain in my nipples?

This is probably the 3rd I've gotten this pain. Basically, my right nipple sometimes feels like its inflamed or something and I have no idea why. I'm only 17 and I've never had sex so I think it might be a skin condition or something like that. I would also like to know any ways of how I can stop this pain.

Hi Vicky - Some women do experience sore breasts and nipples before, during and after their period. It may be hormone-related, or from any number of activities - sexual activity that was a little too rough, too tight sports bra, chaffing during exercise.
