my boyfriend is worried that i could get pregnant after having sex four days before my period. i have always had a regular menstrual cycle of 28 days. i always ovulate on the 14th. i've never had an irregular cycle. i also took postinator 2 right after having sex just to be safe. my period started normally bu he is worried that i still might be pregnant. is this reasonable? can this even happen? and if it does who does it usually happen to.
thank you. i look forward to your reply

Hello Ronnie23,
Welcome again to EmpowHER. Thank you for coming to us with your questions.
You are not likely to become pregnant during intercourse four days before your period is due, especially if you have a regular menstrual cycle. A woman is most likely to become pregnant five days before ovulation and on the day of ovulation.
Since you ovulate around the 14th of the month, there was really no need to take Postinor 2. In fact, taking the pill may actually cause changes in your cycle. Your period may start on time or earlier or later than expected. Flow could be lighter or heavier than normal.
You can reassure your boyfriend that you did not become pregnant.
