Help will be appreciated.

Hello. My period is 17 days late but I've not had sex since my last period. The last time me and my boyfriend did it was 3 months ago and I've had 2 period since. I'm currently having exams, so I may be stressed (but im not entirely sure); Could I be pregnant?

Hello Anonymous,

During periods of stress, the body produces more cortisol. High cortisol levels trigger the body to shut down non-essential functions. The menstrual cycle is one.

So does that mean my late period is probably due to stress?

Hello Anonymous,

Most likely since you are under stress and have not had unprotected intercourse since your last period.

No she has not been sexually active since December.
Is it normal to be 17 days late.?
She has been experiencing some back pain and leg pain lately.

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for your question.

Pregnancy would be the reason if she had unprotected intercourse since her last period in February. Otherwise, some hormonal imbalance occurred to cause her to miss her period for the month of March.

Maryann
