Can you get pregnant from missing pills after unprotected sex?

I am a first day starter and missed the first pill of my pack (started a day late) I take Yaz. according to the pill pack, it says missing only one in the first week requires no back up protection. At the end of that first week (The day after the last day of withdrawal bleeding) I had unprotected sex, though my partner withdrew. On Tuesday and Wednesday (the sex was on sunday) I missed my pills, and doubled up on Thursday and Friday. What are the chances of pregancy?

Hi Anonymous,

I don't think there was a risk of becoming pregnant when have intercourse on the second day of your withdrawal bleeding. Taking your pill 3 hours late does not pose a risk.

Breast tenderness may be a response to the new brand of birth control, particularly if there was a switch from combination to progesterone only. Do check with your gynecologist to be sure.

Maryann

I'm on Aubra and have been on it for two years. I had unprotected sex Friday but forgot to take a pill on Saturday, I remembered Sunday so I took two to make up for it but I think it was 24 hours exactly. Could I be pregnant? It was the third day of a new packet.

Hello, I'm in somewhat of a similar situation. I have taken my pills very regularly, never missing one. However, I had unprotected sex on Friday, and then left for a weekend trip and forgot my pill pack. I had only two active pills left, for Friday and Saturday, but obviously didn't take them as I didn't have access to them, and I won't have access until Monday night (today is Sunday, two days after the unprotected sex). Is there a high chance I am pregnant? I'm not sure how it works with it being so close to the start of my period. Please let me know, I'm getting quite worried. Thanks

My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex on Wednesday and I left for a weekend trip today (Friday). I have not missed a pill this pack, and normally take them around 8:30 AM. I won't have access to them again until Sunday evening. Is there a possibility for pregnancy in this situation?

Hello Anonymous,

Indeed, you did test too early.
A pregnancy test detects levels of hcg, which is the hormone produced only during pregnancy. Levels in urine can be detected about 12 to 14 days following conception.

Did you have intercourse during time you missed four pills, a couple of weeks ago?

anonymous, for the best advice, please contact your gynecologist's office.

Maryann

Hi Anonymous,

So low to no chance because you made up for the missed dose and hopefully did not miss your dose of Friday.

Maryann
