I took 2nd dosage of Ecee2 after 21 hours of 1st dosage.
Is that still effective in preventing pregnancy?

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for your question.

ECee2 is an emergency contraceptive available in India, Kenya and Myanmar. It contains levonorgestrel. Directions are one tablet should be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. The second tablet l should be 12 hours after the first dose.

Its efficacy is best if taken as directed. That means by taking the second tablet so late might have decreased its effectiveness in preventing pregnancy.

I suggest you speak with your gynecologist or pharmacist.

Regards,
Maryann
