I had cateract surgery 11/11/13. Everything went well. I can see perfectly but 15 days later the outside of my eye, the lid, bottom and both corners are red and very very seollen. I can't even open it. the doctor gave me tobradex for the "infection" (I do not know if it is an infection...maybe you can tell me what you think) and I'm also using prednisolone acetate ophthalmic suspension.Any info you can provide me with will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely Donna

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thanks for your question. Any redness and swelling, can definitely be a sign of an infection. If you are still concerned about what you can see or feel.  It might be good to let your doctor or surgeon know of your symptoms.

Hope this was helpful?

Best,

Daisy
